CORPORATE RESILIENCE AND FIRM’S DYNAMIC CAPABILITIES AMONG SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISE’S IN YENAGOA BAYELSA STATE

Abstract

Thestudy examined the relationship between corporate resilience and firm dynamic capability.  The correlation survey design was adopted to measure the relationship between the variables. The study population consisted of all registered small and medium scale enterprises in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. One hundred and forty-nine (149) small and medium scale enterprises were considered in the study. A sample size of 109 participants was selected from the SMEs.  The questionnaire instrument was used to elicit data. The Spearman Rank Correlation Coefficient was adopted to test the hypotheses with the aid of SPSS The findings showed that corporate resilience dimensions resourcefulness and proactiveness have strong positive relationship with firm dynamic capability measure market sensitivity.  The researcher concludes that there is a significant relationship between corporate resilience and firm dynamic capability.  Therefore, it was recommended that management should be proactive and strategically position its resources to meet new market demands.
